Paul Richard started Paul G. Richard Cabinet & Millwork in 1978. Our primary products were kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities. Over the years, we built entertainment units, raised panel walls, and residential libraries. Next came custom interiors, exterior doors and custom window sashes.
Moulding was originally done on a shaper, but as this became a larger part of the product line, we acquired a Foley Profile Grinder and a 2x4 XL Moulder.
After this first step towards manufacturing custom moulding on a larger scale, in 1990, we bought our first moulder, a Weinig Profimat 22N 5 Head to replace the outdated XL, and moulding production and quality took off.
In 1998, we moved our operation from Oak Street in Centerville to the Shepley Wood Products yard at 216 Thornton Drive in Hyannis. We replaced the Weinig Profimat with a 6 Head Unimat with 10 1/4" width capacity, larger spindles and more horsepower. And in 2005, we traded up again to a Weinig Powermat 1000 with 6 heads and HSK tooling (spindle-less). Along with the grinder came a Opticontrol Digital Measuring Stand. Our quality is unsurpassed.
In 1999, we added a Weinig Rondamat 960 Profile Grinder to replace the 1988 Foley Grinder. And in 2005, we upgraded this, too, to a Rondamat 960 for HSK tooling. All of our templates are drawn on computer and produced on a CNC Router templatemaker. Now, we can grind knives with greater precision.
In addition, we produce custom wood products using our CNC Router.
Currently, Paul G. Richard Millwork has three employees, owner Paul Richard , his son, Jeremy Richard, and Feleke Astakie. All orders go through Shepley Wood Products Sales Desk and are generated by the Shepley Sales Team.
